CHARLES  FREDERICK  MATTHAMS was  born  in 1890 in  Great  Waltham,  the  son  of Thomas and Emma Matthams (née Tyrrell). His parents were married on the 27 September 1872 in the Parish Church in Great Waltham and were both residing in the parish at the time of their wedding. 

THOMAS MONK was born in the 1877 in Great Waltham, one of seven children born to John and Lydia Monk (née Emmeny). He was baptised in the Parish Church on the 4th March 1877.
