ARTHUR JOYCE was born in the 1886 at Felsted, Essex, one of ten children born to Peter and Eliza Joyce (Joice) (née Hockley). He was baptised in the Parish Church at Great Leighs, aged 8 years on the 14th February 1894, together with his elder brother Frederick, who was 9 years old.

WILLIAM JOYCE was born in the 1895 at Great Leighs, Essex, one of ten children born to Peter and Eliza Joyce (Joice) (née Hockley). Peter and Eliza were married on the 1stNovember 1884 at the Parish Church, Felsted where they were  both living.  Peter was a Labourer. They  had five sons and five  daughters. William was their sixth child and third son.

ALFRED CHARLES KETLEY was born in 1888 at Good Easter, Essex, the third child of eight children, two daughters and six sons, born to Charles and Alice Ketley (Kettley) (née Lee). Charles and  Alice were  married  on  the 11th November  1881 at  the Parish  Church, Good  Easter.  Charles  was  a  Labourer  and lived  in Chignal  Smealey  at  the  time  of  his  marriage. Alice, aged  20  years came from Good Easter.
